Honours

Honours student and supervisor in the lab
Our Honours program gives you the opportunity to draw together your previous studies in science, biomedicine, health, mathematics or computer science. Your knowledge, skills and intellect will be applied to original research into an important question in medical research.

As an Honours student you will receive outstanding research training. Our students work within leading medical research teams and benefit from collaborations established within the Institute as well as nationally and internationally.

Student workshops, coursework and our postgraduate seminar series give our Honours students the opportunity to learn more widely from some of Australia’s best medical researchers.

Our Honours students advance to a range of different careers or further studies at the completion of their degree.

Course structure and how to apply

We offer a number of student research projects each year. Prospective students should explore these projects and contact potential supervisors to discuss their research program. The Honours coursework is taught at the Institute.

Scholarship

Our Honours students are all awarded the Alan W Harris Honours Scholarship, providing $5000 to support their studies.
