Single Cell Open Research Endeavour (SCORE)

The SCORE provides an integrated space where biologists, technologists and computational biologists can apply the latest single cell technologies to a variety of basic and clinical research questions.

By concentrating resources and establishing a pipeline of delivery, the financial and logistical barrier to entry for scientists will be lowered.

The SCORE operates across three main areas:

  1. Service: access to out-of-the-box and tried-and-tested bespoke technology. Service fees are charged on a cost recovery basis.
  2. Technology acquisition: published acquirable technologies, eventually to transition to service.
  3. Custom technology development and refinement: SCORE develops and adapts technology in-house.

Single cell RNA sequencing (scRNAseq)

The SCORE team helps researchers identify the protocol best suited to their needs.

 A project typically goes through five stages:

  1. Kick-off meeting
  2. Samples submission and library preparation
  3. Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS)
  4. Data analysis
  5. Closing meeting

Researchers are involved in the meetings and data analysis, while sample processing and sequencing is performed by the SCORE team.

Current SCORE portfolio

  • 10 X Chromium platform for very high throughput. For more information visit the 10X genomics website.
  • CelSeq2 plate-based platform, suitable for rare cells and small cell populations. It enables the combination of Fluorescent Activated Cell Sorting (FACS) marker and transcriptomic information on a single cell level (FACS index sorting).
